Flexibag, Isotank Or Drums

Three ways to move a liquid oleochemical, and the choice is usually made by volume, viscosity and destination long before it is made by price.

A flexibag is a single-use liner in a standard dry container. It suits full loads of a stable liquid to a destination with the equipment to discharge one, and it leaves nothing to return. An isotank is a reusable tank container: it handles heated and higher-value cargo, holds temperature better, and carries the cost and logistics of repositioning the tank afterwards.

Drums are the answer at part-load quantities, for material that has to be split between lines or held in a warehouse, and for anywhere without bulk discharge. They cost more per tonne and they are the only one of the three that consolidates easily with other products in the same container.

Viscosity narrows the field quickly. Anything that has to arrive warm rules out the options that cannot be heated, and anything that solidifies in transit has to be planned around at the loading end rather than the discharge end.
